Between The Pages | March Reading Roundup: Easton Island Series (Part 1)

Happy April! Can you believe we are already four months into the year? March certainly flew by for me, but it was an incredibly productive month in the reading department. I managed to finish 11 books—a number that even surprised me!

I’ll admit, I don’t usually dive into an entire series back-to-back, but once I picked up the first installment of Hope Callaghan’s 16-book Easton Island series, I was completely hooked. If you’re wondering how I managed to fly through so many, the secret was in the page counts. Ranging from 140 to 295 pages, these stories were the perfect length to settle into and finish in a single evening.

I still have five books to go before I’ve officially visited every corner of the island, so I’ve decided to break this update into a two-part series. Today, I’m thrilled to share Part One with you.

The Book That Started It All

Morgan Easton Greer is forced to pick up the pieces and start over after her world is shattered by a series of tragic events, including a failing marriage and the loss of her mother.

My Thoughts:

What drew me in immediately was the question: Does Morgan have the courage to claim what is rightfully hers and start over by building a life she never dreamed possible? Watching her navigate the transition from her old life to the possibilities of Easton Island was exactly the kind of “savoring” experience I look for in a good series.

Easton Island: The Letter (Easton Island Family Saga Series Book 2) by Hope Callaghan

In the second installment of the series, the momentum picks up as Morgan is pulled right back into the atmosphere of the island. After a brief return to her “real” life, a frantic call from her mother’s best friend, Ronni, suggests that things at Looking Glass Cottage and the Easton Estate are unraveling quickly.

The Plot Thickens

Morgan rushes back to find the estate in total chaos. A family guest has arrived, bringing unwelcome changes that threaten the island’s peace. As Morgan steps up to tackle the problem, the layers of the Easton family history begin to peel away, revealing:

• The Secret Wing: Readers finally get a glimpse into who—or what—is being hidden in the restricted area of the estate.
• The Unopened Letter: The moment we’ve been waiting for arrives as Morgan finally reads the letter her mother left behind.

Easton Island: Coming Home (Easton Island Family Saga Series Book 3) by Hope Callaghan

In the third book of the series, Coming Home, the stakes get personal as Morgan tries to bridge the gap between her painful past and her hopeful future. While she is ready to leave Fort Myers behind for good, her soon-to-be-ex-husband, Jason, isn’t making the transition easy.

A New Chapter Under Threat

Morgan and her best friend, Quinn, finally head north to start their new lives, but the shadows of her old life follow close behind. The story shifts from island mysteries to a gripping personal conflict:

• The Lingering Divorce: Despite her eagerness to move on, Jason’s legal delays and suspicious behavior keep Morgan on edge.

In the fourth installment, Locke Meadow, Morgan begins the transition from a newcomer to a true member of the community. Still, the island’s deep-rooted history continues to throw obstacles in her path. Now that she is working alongside her half-brother, Brett, she is finally learning the ropes of the family business.

Turning the Page

While the atmosphere remains as charming as ever, the plot dives deeper into the complicated Easton family tree and the social dynamics of the island:

• Art and Ancestry: While sorting through her mother’s artwork with her best friend, Quinn, Morgan finds a portrait of her father. Her attempt to return it to her grandmother leads to a shocking revelation that changes everything Morgan thought she knew about her parents.
• Community Resistance: Despite her hard work and good intentions, not everyone on the island is happy to see an Easton return. Morgan faces suspicion and mistrust from locals who aren’t ready to welcome her into the fold.

The stakes in Locke Meadow shift toward legacy and reputation. Will Morgan be able to win over the skeptical islanders, or will the secrets she uncovers threaten her future before it even truly begins?

Easton Island: The Christmas Gift (Easton Island Family Saga Series Book 5) by Hope Callaghan

In the fifth installment, The Christmas Gift, the holiday season arrives on Easton Island, bringing both the “event of the season” and a new wave of unsettling mysteries. While the island is decked out for the festivities, Morgan finds herself reflecting on a whirlwind year of both profound loss and unexpected joy.

A Holiday of Secrets

Grandmother Elizabeth plans to use the holiday gala to officially announce her grandchildren as the heirs to the Easton Family Dynasty. Still, the celebration is shadowed by new discoveries:

• The Final Bequest: Morgan finally learns the nature of the last gift her mother left for her, only to realize that her mother’s will is far more complicated than she originally believed.
• A Ransacked Home: The peace of the season is shattered when Morgan discovers that someone has broken into the property. It becomes a race to figure out what they were looking for and why they are targeting her.
• The Locke Meadow Mystery: As she digs deeper, Morgan uncovers clues about what really caused the destruction of her grandparents’ former home, Locke Meadow, unearthing secrets that some would prefer stayed buried.

With the family puzzle becoming more dangerous by the day, Morgan begins to wonder who she can truly trust. As the year draws to a close, she faces a chilling question: Will this final Christmas gift be the end of her new life on Easton Island?

What a journey it’s been already! From the moment Morgan first stepped onto the shores of Easton Island to the high-stakes holiday secrets at the estate, I have been absolutely captivated by this family’s story. It’s rare for me to find a series that I simply cannot put down, but the blend of coastal charm and lingering mystery in these first five books kept me turning pages well into the night.

I’m already halfway through the next set of stories, and I can tell you—the drama only intensifies from here!
