Poem | Sun-Kissed Days
Sunlight stretches, a golden yawn,
Painting the sky in hues of cotton
candy dawn. Birdsong fills the air,
a joyful, twittering throng, A symphony
for sleepy eyes that have slumbered long.
Grass, emerald green, whispers
secrets to bare feet, Dew-kissed
blades cool against the morning’s heat.
Honeysuckle’s perfume, sweet and
heavy, hangs in the air, A fragrant
welcome to a day without a care.
Lazy afternoons stretch out, languid
and slow; the drone of cicadas a
rhythmic undertow. Sunbeams dance
on treetops, dappling the ground, A
a canvas of light and shadow where
dreams abound.
Fireflies flicker like scattered stars
in the twilight hush, A silent language
spoken in the summer’s gentle crush.
Warm nights hum with the murmur of
crickets’ serenade, A lullaby for the
world, nestled in nature’s embrace.
June, a fleeting whisper, a vibrant,
sun-kissed dream, A season that
lingers, a memory that will gleam.
